Lead Data Scientist at the Regulatory Operations and Enforcement Branch
Celio is a graduate of the Master of Information in Human-Centred Data Science program at the University of Toronto with a collaborative specialization in Knowledge Media Design (2022). He is the Lead Data Scientist at the Regulatory Operations and Enforcement Branch at Health Canada with vast international Data Science experience in public and private sectors.
In his current role, Celio is leading the implementation of the Data Governance Structure at Health Canada as a member of the steering committee for the branch. He is also chair of the data and analytics community of practice and is an enabler of automation and Data Science methods at the Technology and Business Innovations unit.
His previous contributions include the implementation of a Data Science Strategy (collaboratively with the Data Science Division) at Statistics Canada in 2021. He also developed the Percentile Error Mapping technique for bias calibration at the National Research Council Canada in 2020, and a Pattern Recognition solution for software testing automation, for which he was a finalist of the North America Software Testing and QE Awards under the category of the best use of technology in a Project at Cloudpipe Incorporations in 2019.
